Rachel Carson's Legacy
This New York Times piece, HT: WorldMagBlog, offers a long-overdue critique of Rachel Carson's Silent Spring, her (in)famous 1962 lament about the insecticide DDT.
She may have saved some birds, but the malarial devastation in Africa is only now being beaten back ... with DDT.
